The Ivernia Board of Directors share a wealth of experience in some of Ireland’s largest insurance companies. The board consists of Michael Doyle, John O’Roarke, Mark Cliff and Padraig Lynch who work together to make corporate decisions and continuously improve and direct the Ivernia Leadership Team.
Cecilia Cheuk
Chief Executive Officer / Executive Director
Cecilia Cheuk is Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Ivernia Insurance. She brings over 25 years of experience across the Irish and UK non life insurance markets, with a strong track record of improving underwriting performance and delivering disciplined, profitable growth.
Cecilia has held senior roles at LCP Ireland and Willis Towers Watson, where she led strategic and operational programmes for insurers and MGAs and served as an approved Head of Actuarial Function. She has extensive experience building high performing teams, shaping organisational culture and leading businesses through periods of change. Earlier in her career, she began at Allianz Ireland before moving to RSA Insurance Ireland, where she held senior actuarial leadership roles across pricing, business intelligence and reserving, building capabilities and strengthening data led insight to enhance underwriting discipline and portfolio performance.
A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland, Cecilia has also held senior leadership roles within the profession, contributing to the development of actuarial standards and wider industry practice. She brings strong commercial and operational leadership, with deep expertise in underwriting performance, distribution and the development of high performing MGA businesses.
Phil Bradley
Chair of the Board
Phil Bradley is Chair of the Board at Ivernia, bringing over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry across Ireland, the UK and Continental Europe
He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of AXA Ireland from 2015 to 2022, where he led the business through a sustained period of growth and profitability. Phil has deep expertise across distribution, underwriting, claims and executive leadership, and a strong track record of delivering disciplined growth and robust governance in complex market environments.
As Chair, he provides strategic oversight and strengthens Ivernia’s governance framework, supporting the company’s long term ambition to build a resilient, customer focused personal lines business and deepen relationships with brokers and capacity partners.
Mark Cliff (UK)
Non-Executive Director
Mark is non-executive director of a number of insurance-related businesses, including Be Wiser, Evolution Claims Management, RS Connect and Ivernia Insurance. Previously, between 2015-2019, he was chairman (exec and non-exec) at Brightside Group.
Mark was chief executive of retail and distribution at Ageas Insurance Ltd where he was responsible for all Ageas UK’s broker distribution and affinity relationships, as well as Ageas’s Kwik Fit Financial Services, Ageas Insurance Solutions, RIAS and Castle Cover.
He has also worked at AXA Insurance, where he held the position of markets and managing director.
Mark is also a member of BIBA’s Large Broker Advisory Board.
Padraig Lynch
Executive Director
Padraig has over 25 years experience in the insurance business. He began his career in the underwriting and claims area with Allianz and then went on to focus on the insurance broking sector, specialising in general insurance.
In 2007, he set up insureme.ie which was later rebranded as Chill Insurance in 2008. Chill Insurance is now Ireland’s largest online insurance broker.
