About The Business

Ivernia Insurance is a growing personal lines Managing General Agent with a strong underwriting and pricing heritage. The business operates across Private Car, Home Insurance and a developing Light Commercial Motor portfolio, working in close partnership with insurer capacity providers.

The organisation is entering its next phase of growth, with a focus on scaling profitably, deepening insurer relationships and continuing to deliver strong customer outcomes.

The Opportunity

The Pricing Analyst supports the delivery of Ivernia’s pricing strategy across Private Car, Home Insurance and Commercial Motor portfolios. The role focuses on pricing analysis, rate implementation, testing, performance monitoring and analytical support, working closely with pricing leadership, data teams and external vendors.

Ivernia is recruiting two Pricing Analysts at slightly different experience levels. The roles are suitable for candidates with circa 2+ and 5+ years of relevant insurance pricing experience. Candidates may be pricing actuaries or non actuaries, with responsibility and ownership scaling based on experience rather than qualification.

These roles contribute to the continued development of pricing capability, analytical insight and deployment discipline, supporting both risk based and market informed pricing decisions over time.

Key Responsibilities


Rate Implementation and Testing

  • Implement and test rate changes across Private Car, Home Insurance and Commercial Motor portfolios
  • Validate rating logic and outputs prior to deployment
  • Support controlled and well documented rollout of pricing changes
  • More experienced analysts will take greater ownership of end-to-end testing and deployment activity

Pricing and performance monitoring

  • Monitor pricing experience, performance and emerging portfolio trends
  • Identify anomalies, inconsistencies or risks within pricing outputs
  • Produce regular monitoring and performance analysis
  • Contribute to interpretation of portfolio performance and emerging pricing risks

Modelling and analytical support

  • Assist in the development and refinement of pricing models and analytical frameworks
  • Support analysis underpinning pricing strategies and portfolio actions
  • Work with senior pricing colleagues on model enhancement and review
  • More experienced analysts may lead specific analytical workstreams

Data and governance

  • Work closely with data teams to ensure accurate and timely inputs into pricing
  • Maintain pricing documentation, change records and audit trails
  • Support adherence to internal pricing controls and governance requirements

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Underwriting, Claims, Operations and Distribution teams
  • Support engagement with external vendors and pricing tools, including WTW Radar
  • Contribute to pricing related projects and roadmap initiatives

Skills and Experience


Essential

  • Relevant experience in an insurance pricing or pricing analytics role, either as a pricing actuary or a non actuarial pricing analyst
  • Circa 2+ years relevant experience for one role and circa 5+ years for the second role
  • Strong analytical capability with attention to detail
  • Experience working with structured datasets
  • Strong Excel capability
  • Ability to clearly communicate analytical findings to non technical stakeholders

Advantageous

  • Experience in personal lines insurance, particularly Private Car, Home Insurance or Commercial Motor
  • Familiarity with rate change implementation and post deployment monitoring
  • Experience using pricing and rating tools, including WTW Emblem, Radar and Radar Live
  • Experience using R, SQL, Python or similar analytical tools
  • Progress toward or completion of actuarial exams is welcome but not required
